Sooke Fire Dept. Annual Santa Run Sat. Dec 17, 2011

 The Sooke Fire Dept. will be driving around town throughout all neighbourhoods handing out candy and collecting food and cash donations for the Sooke Food Bureau-Don't miss it!

Nutcracker Sat/Sun Dec. 17 & 18, 2011

Come see the sooke version of the famous holiday musical!  On Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m.at the EMCS theatre.  Tickets are available at Bee's Knees and at the Sooke Dance Studio.

Fire Hall Food Drive Fri. - Sun Dec16-18, 2011

Friday, Saturday & Sunday the Sooke Fire department is having an open house from 10:00 a.m.. until 4:00 p.m..  People can drive their cars into the garage where volunteers will collect donations for the Christmas Bureau and then drivers can exit out the other side.

If you have the right to vote then you might want to exercise it and have your voice heard as Sooke and other municipalities head to the polls to determine the direction they're heading in.  We've got what really looks like an abundance of talent out there, two good Mayoral canadidates and a fair number of council candidates to choose from.  Hopefully you've had a chance to see where their priorities are and their vision of where they would steer the municipality during the incoming council's term.

The Canada World Youth program is celebrating it's 40'th anniversary with a food drive at the community hall from 10 a.m. til 4 p.m.  All Food will be donated to the sooke Food Bank.  The most needed items are: peanut butter, canned fish, cereal, juice, beans and canned fruit but all donations are welcome.
