Skate-a-thon Thursday Nov. 24th

The Sooke Skating Club fundraiser for KidSport is coming up and there is still time to pledge donations.  Either per lap or a flat sum, email sookeskatingclub@gmail.com for more details.

Election Day Sat. Nov. 19th

If you have the right to vote then you might want to exercise it and have your voice heard as Sooke and other municipalities head to the polls to determine the direction they're heading in.  We've got what really looks like an abundance of talent out there, two good Mayoral canadidates and a fair number of council candidates to choose from.  Hopefully you've had a chance to see where their priorities are and their vision of where they would steer the municipality during the incoming council's term.

Canada World Youth presents their Kathi Camilleri Workshop.  Learn about the First Nations and the intergenerational effects of colonization.  Held at the EMCS theatre from 7:00 p.m. til 10:00 p.m.

Take a moment to honour those brave soldiers that sacrificed their lives as well as those who continue to serve our country.  Service at the Legion at 11:00 a.m.
