Celebrate Canada Day - July 1, 2018

July 1st 12pm-10pm. Free family fun day at the “Sooke Flats”, 2259 Phillips Road. Opening ceremony: 12 noon, Cake 12:30. Shuttle bus to the flats. Bark in the Park - June 23, 2018

Sat June 23 5pm-9pm. This is a fundraising event to build a dog rescue shelter in Sooke. The event takes place at John Phillips Park and will feature live music, a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, food trucks, vendors and prizes. Costumes are encouraged. Tickets $20 at Bosley’s in Sooke.

Sooke River Bluegrass Festival - June 15-17, 2018

2018 will mark the 16th year of the Sooke River Bluegrass Festival. Held every Father’s Day weekend at the Sooke River Campground (aka the Sooke Flats). The festival is family friendly and features an array of local & visiting acoustic talent, food & merchandise vendors, instrument workshops and beautiful scenery. see sookebluegrass.com for more info

GREASE the Musical - June 6-9, 2018

EMCS and Journey Middle School are joining forces to recreate the famous 1978 musical, Grease. The show runs on June 6, 7 and 8 at 7pm and on June 9 at 2pm at the EMCS Theatre. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased in advance at Shoppers Drug Mart, Journey Middle School or the EMCS office, or can also be purchased at the door.

Sooke Secret Garden Tour - June 3, 2018

June 3rd 10am - 4pm Explore 8 local hidden gardens while helping to raise funds for the Sooke Philharmonic Society. Plant sale, master gardeners, music in the gardens, refreshments and more. Tickets available at Shoppers, Peoples, The Stick, Little Vienna Bakery, Sooke Region Museum or Artisan’s Garden. $25 each. Duck Day @ the Flats - May 5, 2018

12th annual Rubber Duck Race. Free family fun. 11am-3pm May 5. Hosted by the Sooke Harbourside Lions at Sooke River Campground, 2259 Phillips Road. Duck race at 12pm. Tickets for duck “adoption” are $5 each or $20 for a “Quack Pack” of 5 tickets. Tickets at Pemberton Holmes, Sooke River Campground Office, Seaside Sweets, or any Harbourside Lion member.
